Portugal stocks lower at close of trade; PSI down 0.53%
Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Services , Technology and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI lost 0.53%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Nos SGPS SA (ELI: NOS ), which rose 1.39% or 0.05 points to trade at 3.65 at the close. Meanwhile, Ibersol SGPS (ELI: IBS ) added 0.25% or 0.02 points to end at 8.04 and Corticeira Amorim (ELI: CORA ) was down 0.12% or 0.01 points to 8.39 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI: MOTA ), which fell 1.78% or 0.05 points to trade at 2.87 at the close. Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI: JMT ) declined 1.32% or 0.26 points to end at 19.43 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI: EDP ) was down 0.92% or 0.03 points to 2.90.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 22 to 4 and 2 ended unchanged.
Shares in EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI: EDP ) fell to 5-year lows; down 0.92% or 0.03 to 2.90.
Brent oil for April delivery was down 1.94% or 1.49 to $75.51 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 2.22% or 1.63 to hit $71.69 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.00% or 0.06 to trade at $2,932.66 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.39% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.32% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 107.75.
