Belgium stocks lower at close of trade; BEL 20 down 0.82%

Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Healthcare , Telecoms and Industrials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.82%.

The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Solvay SA (EBR: SOLB ), which rose 2.11% or 0.67 points to trade at 32.48 at the close. Meanwhile, Lotus Bakeries (EBR: LOTB ) added 1.77% or 160.00 points to end at 9,200.00 and Melexis NV (EBR: MLXS ) was up 1.15% or 0.65 points to 57.15 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Umicore SA (EBR: UMI ), which fell 9.40% or 1.00 points to trade at 9.60 at the close. UCB SA (EBR: UCB ) declined 3.58% or 6.70 points to end at 180.45 and Argen-X (EBR: ARGX ) was down 2.13% or 13.20 points to 607.80.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 50 to 49 and 9 ended unchanged.

Shares in Umicore SA (EBR: UMI ) fell to 5-year lows; losing 9.40% or 1.00 to 9.60.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 1.17% or 34.39 to $2,911.01 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.48% or 0.34 to hit $70.95 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.12% or 0.09 to trade at $74.93 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.28% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.56% at 106.61.
