U.K. stocks lower at close of trade; Investing.com United Kingdom 100 down 0.46%
Investing.com – U.K. stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Fixed Line Telecommunications , Pharmaceuticals & Biotech and Beverage sectors led shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 fell 0.46%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Flutter Entertainment PLC (LON: FLTRF ), which rose 7.31% or 1,610.00 points to trade at 23,630.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Entain PLC (LON: ENT ) added 6.77% or 47.20 points to end at 744.40 and Intermediate Capital Group PLC (LON: ICGIN ) was up 2.36% or 56.00 points to 2,426.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Schroders PLC (LON: SDR ), which fell 3.13% or 12.00 points to trade at 371.60 at the close. International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (LON: ICAG ) declined 2.56% or 8.90 points to end at 338.50 and AstraZeneca PLC (LON: AZN ) was down 2.14% or 256.00 points to 11,708.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the London Stock Exchange by 921 to 831 and 638 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 1.20% or 35.44 to $2,909.96 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.59% or 0.42 to hit $70.87 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.25% or 0.19 to trade at $74.83 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 0.41% to 1.26, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.54% at 106.64.
