Mexico stocks lower at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC down 0.18%
Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrials , Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.18%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV: ORBIA ), which rose 5.80% or 0.79 points to trade at 14.42 at the close. Meanwhile, Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV: VOLARA ) added 4.61% or 0.73 points to end at 16.58 and Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV: ALSEA ) was up 3.87% or 1.92 points to 51.49 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wal Mart de Mexico SAB de CV (BMV: WALMEX ), which fell 6.63% or 3.88 points to trade at 54.61 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (BMV: GAPB ) declined 2.26% or 9.18 points to end at 397.22 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (BMV: ASURB ) was down 2.15% or 12.61 points to 575.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 130 to 115 and 19 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 1.70% or 50.19 to $2,895.21 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.90% or 0.64 to hit $70.65 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.47% or 0.35 to trade at $74.67 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.55% to 20.29, while EUR/MXN fell 0.24% to 21.30.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.53% at 106.65.
