Mexico stocks higher at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC up 1.19%
Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials , Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 1.19% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV: PEOLES ), which rose 5.48% or 16.76 points to trade at 322.39 at the close. Meanwhile, Coca-Cola Femsa SAB de CV (BMV: KOFUBL ) added 5.42% or 8.81 points to end at 171.29 and Becle SA (BMV: CUERVO ) was up 4.89% or 0.85 points to 18.23 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV: GMEXICOB ), which fell 1.40% or 1.49 points to trade at 104.81 at the close. Gentera SAB de CV (BMV: GENTERA ) declined 0.99% or 0.28 points to end at 27.90 and Cemex SAB de CV (BMV: CEMEXCPO ) was down 0.74% or 0.10 points to 13.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 129 to 111 and 20 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.18% or 5.30 to $2,927.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 2.91% or 2.13 to hit $71.19 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 2.65% or 2.04 to trade at $74.96 a barrel.
USD/MXN was unchanged 0.00% to 20.54, while EUR/MXN rose 0.24% to 21.33.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 107.89.
