Mexico stocks higher at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC up 1.04%

Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials , Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 1.04% to hit a new 3-months high.

The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (BMV: BOLSAA ), which rose 3.80% or 1.23 points to trade at 33.61 at the close. Meanwhile, Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV: MEGACPO ) added 3.36% or 1.36 points to end at 41.86 and Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (BMV: GAPB ) was up 3.29% or 12.77 points to 400.71 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV: PEOLES ), which fell 4.80% or 15.49 points to trade at 306.93 at the close. Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV: VOLARA ) declined 2.09% or 0.34 points to end at 15.90 and Regional SAB de CV (BMV: RA ) was down 1.50% or 2.09 points to 137.37.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 125 to 124 and 14 ended unchanged.

Shares in Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (BMV: GAPB ) rose to all time highs; rising 3.29% or 12.77 to 400.71.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.25% or 7.43 to $2,926.97 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.20% or 0.87 to hit $73.19 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.30% or 0.99 to trade at $76.86 a barrel.

USD/MXN was down 0.15% to 20.56, while EUR/MXN rose 0.39% to 21.30.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.38% at 107.79.
