Brazil stocks lower at close of trade; Bovespa down 1.27%

Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrials , Consumption and Financials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa lost 1.27%.

The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Totvs SA (BVMF: TOTS3 ), which rose 2.69% or 0.88 points to trade at 33.54 at the close. Meanwhile, Hapvida Participacoes e Investimentos (BVMF: HAPV3 ) added 2.64% or 0.06 points to end at 2.33 and Fleury SA (BVMF: FLRY3 ) was up 1.83% or 0.21 points to 11.69 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Automob Participações SA (BVMF: AMOB3 ), which fell 7.41% or 0.02 points to trade at 0.25 at the close. Cosan SA Industria e Comercio (BVMF: CSAN3 ) declined 6.14% or 0.47 points to end at 7.18 and Localiza Rent a Car SA (BVMF: RENT3 ) was down 6.11% or 1.95 points to 29.94.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 509 to 417 and 54 ended unchanged.

Shares in Automob Participações SA (BVMF: AMOB3 ) fell to all time lows; losing 7.41% or 0.02 to 0.25. Shares in Cosan SA Industria e Comercio (BVMF: CSAN3 ) fell to 5-year lows; falling 6.14% or 0.47 to 7.18.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 3.27% to 27.48.

Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.43% or 12.26 to $2,888.96 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.59% or 0.42 to hit $71.03 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract rose 1.98% or 8.00 to trade at $411.95 .

USD/BRL was up 0.81% to 5.81, while EUR/BRL rose 0.19% to 5.99.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 107.94.
