Portugal stocks higher at close of trade; PSI up 1.04%
Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials , Consumer Services and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI added 1.04% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI: BCP ), which rose 3.70% or 0.02 points to trade at 0.53 at the close. Meanwhile, Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI: JMT ) added 3.01% or 0.58 points to end at 19.83 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI: CTT ) was up 2.00% or 0.13 points to 6.63 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were The Navigator Company SA (ELI: NVGR ), which fell 3.83% or 0.14 points to trade at 3.42 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (ELI: GALP ) declined 1.02% or 0.17 points to end at 16.02 and Semapa (ELI: SEM ) was down 0.62% or 0.10 points to 15.98.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 16 to 8 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI: BCP ) rose to 5-year highs; rising 3.70% or 0.02 to 0.53. Shares in CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI: CTT ) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 2.00% or 0.13 to 6.63.
Brent oil for April delivery was down 0.21% or 0.16 to $74.86 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.53% or 0.38 to hit $70.91 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 1.19% or 35.09 to trade at $2,910.31 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.30% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.56% at 106.61.
