OpenAI's board rejects Musk's $97 billion offer
Investing.com -- OpenAI's board on Friday unanimously rejected Elon Musk's $97.4 billion offer to buy the company's assets, saying the bid is “not in the best interests” of the company.
A Musk-led consortium of investors tabled an offer to acquire the non-profit that controls OpenAI on Monday, though said that the bid would be withdrawn if OpenAI's board agrees to return to the organization’s initial nonprofit mission and walks away from plans to convert the entity into a for-profit corporation.
