Portugal stocks higher at close of trade; PSI up 0.89%
Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials , Telecoms and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI gained 0.89% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI: CTT ), which rose 4.50% or 0.28 points to trade at 6.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Altri SGPS SA (ELI: ALSS ) added 2.45% or 0.15 points to end at 6.07 and EDP Renovaveis (ELI: EDPR ) was up 1.71% or 0.14 points to 8.62 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI: JMT ), which fell 0.93% or 0.18 points to trade at 19.25 at the close. Ibersol SGPS (ELI: IBS ) declined 0.25% or 0.02 points to end at 8.02 and Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI: RENE ) was 0.00% or 0.00 points to 2.40.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 19 to 7 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI: CTT ) rose to 5-year highs; rising 4.50% or 0.28 to 6.50. Shares in Altri SGPS SA (ELI: ALSS ) rose to all time highs; rising 2.45% or 0.15 to 6.07.
Brent oil for April delivery was down 0.17% or 0.13 to $75.05 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $71.34 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.54% or 15.85 to trade at $2,944.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.45% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.51% at 107.27.
