Spain stocks higher at close of trade; IBEX 35 up 0.18%
Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Building & Construction , Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.18% to hit a new 5-year high.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME: SLRS ), which rose 5.17% or 0.39 points to trade at 7.94 at the close. Meanwhile, Grifols SA (BME: GRLS ) added 3.05% or 0.27 points to end at 9.05 and Acerinox (BME: ACX ) was up 2.90% or 0.30 points to 10.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Repsol (BME: REP ), which fell 1.33% or 0.16 points to trade at 11.90 at the close. Banco Santander (BME: SAN ) declined 0.85% or 0.05 points to end at 5.72 and Caixabank SA (BME: CABK ) was down 0.67% or 0.04 points to 6.23.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 113 to 70 and 31 ended unchanged.
Shares in Acerinox (BME: ACX ) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.90% or 0.30 to 10.65.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.51% or 15.01 to $2,943.71 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.06% or 0.04 to hit $71.33 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.17% or 0.13 to trade at $75.05 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.45% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.52% at 107.26.
