U.K. stocks lower at close of trade; Investing.com United Kingdom 100 down 0.33%
Investing.com – U.K. stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Household Goods & Home Construction , Fixed Line Telecommunications and General Industrial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 declined 0.33%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Pershing Square Holdings Ltd (LON: PSHP ), which rose 1.77% or 74.00 points to trade at 4,246.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Fresnillo PLC (LON: FRES ) added 1.59% or 12.00 points to end at 765.00 and Coca Cola HBC AG (LON: CCH ) was up 1.54% or 46.00 points to 3,036.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Barratt Redrow PLC (LON: BTRW ), which fell 4.02% or 18.20 points to trade at 434.80 at the close. Vistry Group PLC (LON: VTYV ) declined 3.82% or 23.00 points to end at 579.50 and Mondi PLC (LON: MNDI ) was down 3.48% or 45.50 points to 1,261.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the London Stock Exchange by 968 to 825 and 602 ended unchanged.
Shares in Coca Cola HBC AG (LON: CCH ) rose to all time highs; up 1.54% or 46.00 to 3,036.00.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.32% or 9.29 to $2,885.99 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.25% or 0.18 to hit $70.79 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.26% or 0.19 to trade at $74.48 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.29% to 1.24, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.16% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 107.89.
